Nature’s circulation systems, like the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide between humans and plants, reveal a profound truth: giving and receiving are simultaneous.
We inhale oxygen, exhale carbon dioxide; plants do the reverse. This seamless cycle ensures life-sustaining gases abound for both. Yet, we often miss its deeper meaning, chasing “more” without balance.
You cannot only give or only receive—it must be a coherent two-way flow. Just as you can’t keep inhaling without exhaling to nourish plants, or exhale without inhaling to sustain your lungs, life demands reciprocity. Give and receive with the grace of a cat napping, breathing effortlessly.
Giving doesn’t always mean material things; all is energy. Love’s energy is the greatest gift. Offer a heartfelt “thank you” with warm eye contact, a silent blessing, or forgiveness when your ego clings to others’ “sins.” Give yourself compassion, recognizing that what you call “self” is often a disturbed ego, like a child needing comfort.
When receiving, open your heart fully, knowing your worth isn’t tied to the small self—flawed, mistake-ridden, or unaccomplished. Your value is infinite, defined by your Creator, in whose image you’re made, never truly separate.
Accept a compliment with a grateful “thank you” and a smile. Pause at a street-side flower, marveling at the miracles behind its vibrant bloom. When you’re with loved ones, worried but managing a faint smile because of their presence, notice the genuine love within that small gesture. Allow this loving energy to expand by acknowledging, embracing, and receiving it fully.
As giving and receiving flow seamlessly, you transcend individuality. You become an empty transit station, where love’s energy moves in to receive and out to give, in perfect synchronization.
